Noise Distraction - Die A Peaceful Death 12''lp - 1992

Noise Distraction - Die A Peaceful Death 12''lp
Vinyl Japan – DISCLP 8 - 1992
01 - Get Above
02 - Know Thyself
03 - Burning City
04 - Gore
05 - Murder
06 - D.S.A
07 - Life... (Die A Peaceful Death)
08 - Loose Loose Loose
09 - Agitate Power
10 - Unseen Terror
11 - Mind Of Truth
12 - Noise Distraction

Don't get fooled by the innocent flower picture on the album sleeve. The japanese rock band Noise Distraction delivers 12 unrelenting, pummelling, head bashing, jaw breaking tunes.
While being consistently brutal during the whole album, this music suffers from a lack of variation when listening to the five last songs. This thrash exercise could have been more efficient and less tedious on a 7inch format, but still, its a good release for the japanese hardcore enthusiasts out there.

Uutuus – Systeemin Rattaissa 7''ep
Genet Records - 1994
01 - Vitun Urpot
02 - Epäjärjestystä
03 - Maksetut Valheet
04 - Teette Mut Sairaax

06 - Maailman Politiikkaa
07 - En Alistu
08 - Natsi Runkkarit
09 - Systeemin Rattaissa
10 - Mellakka

Short sharp shock, raw, primitive hard core seven inch from the finns Uutuus. These guys followed the path of the classic Finnish 82 bands but were faster and straight to the point. "Systeemin Rattaissa" means trapped by the system. No fillers during those ten songs, only pure drunken rage.

All girl Japanese bands playing garage punk. Except Banana Erectors who had a few releases under their belts, most bands featured on this CD are pretty obscure. Sound is a bit rough on some tracks but the whole compilation is quite diverse and sure makes an entertaining listening experience.

Voodoo Muzak - Blunt 12''lp - 1991

Voodoo Muzak - Blunt 12'' lp
Amanita - 1991
01 - Crux
02 - Define
03 - Toast To Love
04 - Blood Meat And Flesh
05 - Headkick
06 - Your Role
07 - Wolves
08 - Cracklings
09 - Assault Victims
10 - Our Need
11 - Edge
12 - Break Out
13 - Murder Sites
14 - Wax
15 - Puanteur

On their first full-lenght, Voodoo Muzak played repetitive guitar riffs and loops over intricate drum machine patterns. Tortured dual vocals tell short stories of isolation and despair. This album is still energic, agressive and dark, that formula still sound fresh after 20 years.
On their following recordings, Voodoo muzak evolved to more musical experiments, varying soundwise, adding more instruments as saxophone, trumpet, percussion, two drummers playing simultaneously... leaving industrial rock for quieter ambient soundscapes.

Outo Syojodan - 欲求不満の白雪姫と7人の小人達 7''ep flexi

Outo Syojodan - 欲求不満の白雪姫と7人の小人達 7''ep flexi
Satsugai Enka Vinyl - 1988

01 - Yokkyuufuman no Shirayukihime
02 - Anguro Sankon
03 - Baburu Dayon
04 - Good By Sa ka no
05 - Nikuize! Baby

Another Japanese band with a crazy female vocalist. the band's name: Outo Syojodan means Vomiting Virgins, the title of this flexi could be translated as "Snow white and and seven dwarfs of frustration". Music here is primitive and chaotic Japanese hardcore, but with a weird and original twist. Seems this band released a full lenght tape later in 1993 but i never heard or seen it... This thin phonosheet was produced by Satsugai Enka Vinyl, a record label run by Crazy SKB, the crazy punk wrestler. More stuff about him here.

One Arm - Treat / Brilliant 7''ep - 1995

One Arm - Treat/Brilliant 7"ep - 1995
01 - Treat
02 - Brilliant

This all-girl trio from Paris plays minimalist, dark and hypnotic no-wave. Taken from their bio:
" One Arm has always been a group impossible to define, impossible to pigeon-hole. Like a sudden meteor riding on no-wave influences, they've been sculpting into reality the melodic elements of a machine which captivates and hypnotises in a dual atmosphere of surface steel and true melancholy. "
While this band was quite obscure and operated with discretion in terms of releases and gigs, One Arm still play now, if you're interested, you can listen to their 2011 album directly on their website. The extra insert included in that single above is a silkscreened ad for the Mug double 7"ep.

Akebonoise - S/T flexi - 1982

Akebonoise S/T 7" Flexi - ( Dakimyouga Records, 1982, Daki-2200 )

Unique flexi by this obscure japanese band. supposedly released back in 1981~1982.
Musicwise, it sounds like a mix of punk-rock and no-wave. The woman who sings has a disturbing and crazy voice. Her vocal style reminisce other Japanese avant-garde acts like Phew / Aunt Sally.

01 - Kembali Muda
02 - Tak Kan Pernah Menyerah
03 - Penuh Semangat
04 - This Is Pride

"Delta Force was a hardcore oldschool band since 2007 with female fronted from Sidoarjo City. Influenced by hardcore band such as warzone, 7seconds, all for nothing, comeback kid, and many more. We stand We proud and We believe THIS IS PRIDE!"
This little bio taken from their webpage sum up what the band is all about, but this demo is a good quality recording and has lots of energy. Simple fast-paced US influenced hardcore with lyrics sung in Indonesian. Check it out.

LienGomess / ゴメス - Unaffected Nation 8''ep
R.B.F Records - R.B.F-206 - 1986
01 - Unaffected Nation
02 - 地獄へ
03 - 8.15

Nothing much to say about this eight inch record.
Gomess played laid back, mid-tempo to slow melodic punk-rock with nice lyrical female vocals. According to their website, the band still exists to this day.

Héliogabale - 3ème Demo - 1994

Héliogabale - 3ème Demo - 1994
01 - X
02 - Begging Cunt
03 - Sliding Seat

Old promo tape from the French noise-rock outfit Heliogabale.
The band still continue to this day but i have to admit i don't pay that much attention to their latest material, way to polished to my taste. On the other hand, this raw 4-track recording does more justice to their sound. They were influenced by the sounds of early Sonic Youth or The Birthday party, but they turned to a more personal direction, walls of guitars and tortured intense vocals make the difference here.
If you're into more Heliogabale, it's possible to listen and download their debut recordings, 1996 mini lp "To Pee"and their 1995 album "Yolk" directly from their website.

1995 live video, songs performed are "The slapped and the slapper" and "X".
